It remains a crying shame that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 was such a genuine tire fire, but these old-school instalments are still phenomenal. The combos came thick and fast, the levels encouraged experimentation as you hunted to combo everything together into one ginormous line, and the soundtrack was once again, stellar. It was released for the PlayStation on Septem1 and was later ported to the Nintendo 64, Game. THPS 3 represents a studio at the peak of their abilities, tapping into a potent cultural movement that lets guest characters like Darth Maul and Wolverine sit next to the Hawkster and Rodney Mullen. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, released as Tony Hawk's Skateboarding in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe, is a skateboarding video game developed by Neversoft and published by Activision. Everything from adding revert transitions to transitioning grinds without jumping meant you could chain together even longer lines, the whole process putting you in a trance-like state as you see not the level, but only places to leap from, grind, land and repeat. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 + 2 has been released on 4 September 2020 in the Epic Games store. Thankfully, they not only ticked the basic boxes, but improved on the Pro Skater gameplay in the most important ways possible. Neversoft could absolutely have played everything safe, releasing THPS 3 as 'more of the same' - lord knows it's what someone like Ubisoft would've done, had they been in charge.
